Affordable nutrition

Affordable nutrition

Our work with affordable nutrition revolves around our collaboration with NGOs, government organisations, knowledge institutions and other companies. The objective is to develop and share new models for sustainable supply chains that improve access to nutrition in low-income countries. Children and young women of childbearing age are in particular focus.

Projects of this nature require a thorough understanding of local contexts and needs and a framework for responsible business conduct. In this way, we can minimise the risk of causing unintentional harm and ensure a positive impact.

Through our involvement in the GAIN Nordic partnership, we contribute to the development and transfer of sustainable supply chain models for the production of affordable food products.

Valorisation of side streams and waste

Post-harvest spoilage of vitamin-rich fruits and side streams from dairy production are major sources of food loss. Working with our partners, we aim to reduce losses by enabling new supply chains for affordable nutrition.

We actively support the World Health Organization’s call for more research into the efficacy of supplementary foods to prevent and treat child undernutrition.
